Biography
Representative Jeff Porter, a Republican, represents Montgomery County and parts of Warren and St. Charles Counties (District 42) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2018.
In addition to his legislative duties, Porter works as an insurance agent in Montgomery City. He also served as the mayor of Montgomery City for more than 15 years.
Porter has served as the president of the Montgomery Kiwanis Club and as the secretary for the local Chamber of Commerce. He is a former of the executive board for the Boonslick Regional Planning Council.
Porter is a 1980 graduate of South Shelby High School. He graduated from the University of Missouri in 1984 with a B.S. in Agriculture Economics and Agronomy.
Born in Hannibal, Porter currently resides in Montgomery City with his wife, Julie. They have two children, Andy and Molly. They attend Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montgomery City. Porter is a Fourth Degree Sir Knight and a member of the Honor Guard for the Knights of Columbus Council #2044.
