To amend chapter 41, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to life insurance benefits for Missouri national guard personnel.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 41, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 41.939, to read as follows:
41.939. 1. For any resident of this state who is or becomes a member of the national guard and who is called to full-time active duty in the service of the United States under competent orders, the state of Missouri shall, during the period of full-time active duty, provide or contract for term life insurance coverage for each such resident in a death benefit amount equal to two hundred fifty thousand dollars.
2. The provisions of this section shall be administered by the adjutant general under the direction of the governor.
