Biography
Representative Doug Richey, a Republican, represents part of Clay County (District 38) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2018.
In addition to his legislative duties, Richey is a pastor, law enforcement chaplain and adjunct professor. He spent eight years in the Missouri Army National Guard as a combat engineer.
After obtaining an undergraduate degree from the University of Central Missouri, Richey earned three master’s degrees and a doctorate from the Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MBTS).
Richey was president of the national alumni of MBTS, state alumni president for MBTS, and the conference president for Missouri Baptist Convention Pastors Conference. He is a current member of the Excelsior Springs and Kearney Chambers of Commerce, numerous local boards and Pisgah Baptist Church.
Born in Norfolk, Virginia, Richey currently resides in Excelsior Springs with his wife, Jennifer, and their two daughters.
