Biography
Representative Wayne Wallingford, a Republican, represents Cape Girardeau County (District 147) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his second two-year term in November 2020. Wallingford returned to the House after serving eight years as a Senator.
Prior to serving in the legislature, Wallingford served in the United States Air Force from 1968 – 1993. He was awarded the Silver Star, a Distinguished Flying Cross, 20 air medals including an Air Force Commendation Medal (for Heroism) and the Aerial Achievement Medal. He is also the Chief People Officer for McDonald’s of Southeast Missouri.
Born in Geneva, Illinois, Wallingford obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He also received a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Central Michigan University. He currently resides in Cape Girardeau with his wife, Susan. They have two children, eight grandchildren and attend Cape Bible Chapel.
