Biography

Representative Dirk Deaton represents McDonald and Newton counties (159th District) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2018 and re-elected in 2020, 2022, and 2024.

Deaton currently serves as the Chairman of the House Budget Committee. Prior to serving as Chairman, Deaton served as the committee’s Vice-Chair from 2020-2025. In addition to his legislative duties, Deaton serves on the Board of Trustees for the Missouri State Employees’ Retirement System and the Children’s Trust Fund.

Deaton graduated magna cum laude from Liberty University with a bachelor of science degree in interdisciplinary studies. He also attended Crowder College and Missouri Southern State University.

A lifelong resident of the 159th District, Deaton lives with his wife, Nikki, and their son.
