SB 146 -- ST. LOUIS COUNTY SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

This bill postpones the sunset date for the power of the St. Louis County Special School District board of education to operate vocational programs from June 30, 1997, to June 30, 1998.

The bill also requires the General Assembly to create a 10-member Joint Committee on Career and Vocational Education in St. Louis County to review career and vocational education in St. Louis County and to make recommendations as necessary to the General Assembly. The joint committee must be formed by July 1, 1997, or the effective date of the bill, whichever is later, and terminates on December 31, 1999.

The bill contains an emergency clause.
