exceeds the maximum capacity of students per instructor to use
instructor trainees to teach up to 10 additional students.

trainees.

FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this bill makes technical
changes in the law that would reduce the number of hours it
takes to be an instructor. Schools are finding it difficult to
find qualified instructors due to the amount of hours of
training it takes to be certified. It won't reduce the quality
of instruction.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Treadway; Missouri
Association of Cosmetology Schools; and Merrell University.

OPPONENTS: No opposition was voiced to the committee.
