HB 796 -- NOTICES OF REAL ESTATE SALES

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Civil and
Criminal Law by a vote of 15 to 1.

This bill requires that notices of real estate sales under a
power of sale contained in deeds of trust or mortgages include
the street address and approximate direction and distance from
any city or town and the popular name of the property.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that this will make it easier to
identify property referred to in such notices.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Gratz.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
