COMMITTEE

HB 288 -- BRUSH REMOVAL

SPONSOR: Tate

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by Consent by the Committee
on Miscellaneous Bills by a vote of 6 to 0.

This bill applies requirements for brush control on property
adjacent to county roads in Northwest Missouri to owners in non--
township counties. They currently apply to owners in township
counties.

FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say this bill will allow county roads in
non-township Northwest Missouri counties to have the same brush
removal program as township counties. This program has been
very successful and agreeable with county land owners. The only
complaints have come from absentee land owners.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Tate.
