HB190C-STATE DEPARTMENT CASH TRANSACTIONS
Summary of the Committee Version of the Bill

HB 190 -- CASH TRANSACTIONS BY THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL
RESOURCES

SPONSOR: Ruzicka

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Tourism and Natural Resources by a vote of 14 to 0.

Upon a request from the Director of the Department of Natural
Resources, this bill authorizes the Commissioner of the Office of
Administration to provide funds in an amount not to exceed $500
each to the division directors of State Parks, Geology and Land
Survey, or to any other division within the department to be
placed in a revolving fund for the purpose of cash transactions
involving the sale of items made by the divisions.

FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2012, FY 2013, and
FY 2014.

PROPONENTS: Supporters of the bill say that it will allow the
Division of State Parks to accept cash for items sold at its
Jefferson City and Rolla offices, as well as at special events
such as the State Fair. The ability to accept cash will
potentially allow for increased sales.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Ruzicka; Department
of Natural Resources; and Dr. Susan Flader, Missouri Parks
Association.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
