AN ACT

To amend chapter 198, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to medical malpractice insurance for long-term care facilities.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 198, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 198.033, to read as follows:

            198.033. Beginning January 1, 2007, any long-term care facility licensed under this chapter shall, as a condition of such licensure, provide at least annually to the department of health and senior services satisfactory evidence of a medical malpractice insurance policy of at least five hundred thousand dollars.
