Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

SCS SB 133 -- CAFETERIA PLAN FOR STATE EMPLOYEES

SPONSOR:  Loudon (Yates)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Insurance Policy by a vote of 13 to 0.

This bill requires the Commissioner of the Office of
Administration to include in the Missouri State Employees'
Cafeteria Plan products eligible under Section 125 of Title 26 of
the United States Code, including payments to the state by
vendors providing the products for the cost of administering the
deductions as established by the Office of Administration.

FISCAL NOTE:  Estimated Income on General Revenue Fund of Unknown
in FY 2006, FY 2007, and FY 2008.  Estimated Income on Other
State Funds of Unknown in FY 2006, FY 2007, and FY 2008.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will give state
employees a small tax break by allowing additional products to be
covered by their cafeteria plan.

Testifying for the bill was Senator Loudon.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
