SB1249T-STATE PURCHASING
Summary of the Truly Agreed Version of the Bill

SB 1249 -- STATE PURCHASING

This bill requires the Commissioner of the Office of
Administration to compile a list of Missouri products and provide
it to all state government agencies, public colleges and
universities, and other interested parties. The bill requires
any state purchasing agent to give preference to all commodities
and tangible personal property manufactured, mined, produced, or
grown within the state when the quality is equal or better and
the price is the same or less than any other competitor. State
agencies are required to make a good faith search of Missouri
companies that provide products or services. If a Missouri
company applies for a contract and is denied, the company will be
sent an explanation.
