HB 1459 -- Closed Captioning Sponsor: Moore This bill requires all television stations in Missouri to provide real-time captioning of all local news, weather, and sports programming by January 1, 2006. The use of electronic newsroom technology is not a sufficient method by which these captioning services can be provided. Any television station that would have to spend more than 2% of its annual gross income in order to comply with these requirements is exempt from doing so.
