Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

HCS SCS SB 942, 850 & 841 -- CONVEYANCES

SPONSOR:  Nodler (Goodman)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Local Government by a vote of 18 to 0.

This substitute authorizes the state to convey various parcels of
land including National Guard armories to the cities of Pierce
City, Salem, and Neosho.  The substitute also authorizes the
state to convey a strip of land to the City of Joplin that was
inadvertently omitted from a previous conveyance.

The substitute contains an emergency clause for the conveyances
of the armory buildings to the cities of Pierce City and Salem.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2005, FY 2006, and
FY 2007.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill is necessary to help
these communities rebuild from last year's storms.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Nodler; and Representative
Goodman.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
