SB 783 -- STATE FAIR COMMISSION SPONSOR: Mathewson (Smith, 118) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Tourism and Cultural Affairs by a vote of 18 to 0. This bill removes the requirement that no more than two State Fair Commission members be from any congressional district. The bill contains an emergency clause. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2005, FY 2006, and FY 2007. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill will allow the commission to fill open positions without regard to where they live.
