SB1285C-MOTOR VEHICLE TRANSACTION FEES
Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

SB 1285 -- MOTOR VEHICLE TRANSACTION FEES

SPONSOR: Wheeler (Cooper, 120)

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Tax Policy by a vote of 17 to 0.

This bill allows agents in fee offices located in cities where
the Department of Revenue maintains an office to collect the
statutory fees for processing driver's licenses, motor vehicle
registrations, and other transactions.

FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2005, FY 2006, and
FY 2007.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that some motor vehicle fee offices
cannot charge the fees authorized by statute. The bill will
allow them to charge the same fees as other motor vehicle
offices.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Wheeler; and AAA Auto Club
of Missouri.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
