Current Bill Summary

SB 727 - This act pertains to closing certain municipal utility records.

Section 610.021, RSMo, currently provides that a municipal electric utility may close the portion of its records containing the names of suppliers and costs of services and plans for future marketing and service expansion areas. The exemption shall terminate if electric restructuring is not implemented by December 31, 2001.

The act extends the exemption to apply to both natural gas service and electric service provided by municipal utilities and revises the sunset to terminate the exemption if the General Assembly does not adopt electric utility restructuring legislation by December 31, 2002.
