HB 1556 -- Abortions

This bill requires doctors performing abortions to first inform
their patients, both verbally and in writing, of their right to
view their sonograms before the abortion.  Any patient not
wishing to view her sonograms must sign a written waiver, which
will be kept in the patient's medical file as confidential
records.  The bill also requires the Department of Health to
collect data for statistical purposes on the number of pregnant
women who choose to view their sonograms.  The names of patients
may be replaced by identification numbers when submitted to the
department.
