	Representative Kevin McManus District 046 Democrat
Biography: Rep. Kevin McManus represents part of Jackson County (District 36) encompassing the southern region of the City of Kansas City. Rep. McManus was first elected to the General Assembly in November 2010 and was re-elected in 2012. Rep. McManus serves as Co-Chair of the bipartisan Kansas City Legislative Caucus. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plan, which provides health care coverage to over 108,000 state and public entity members, retirees and their dependents. In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. McManus is an attorney practicing in the area of complex commercial and civil litigation in state and federal court. Prior to his legal career, he was a public policy researcher at the Urban Institute in Washington, D.C. Rep. McManus is a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA), Missouri Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association, and several local chambers of commerce. He is a graduate of the Ross T. Roberts Trial Academy (formerly Inn of Court) of the KCMBA. In 2012, the Missouri Bar presented Rep. McManus with a legislative award in recognition of his work to improve the administration of justice in the state. Rep. McManus is a 1997 graduate of Rockhurst High School. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with his B.A. in Government. After graduation, Rep. McManus was selected to participate in Coro Kansas City, an internship program dedicated to developing leaders in public affairs. He also received his J.D. from St. Louis University. While there, he was an 1843 Scholar, active in the Public Interest Law Group and served as an editor of the Law Journal. Born and raised in Kansas City, Rep. McManus resides in south Kansas City with his wife, Alex.
