Rep. Nathan Beard, a Republican, represents parts of Pettis and Johnson Counties (District 52) in the Missouri House of Representatives. His district includes Sedalia, Knob Noster and Whiteman Air Force Base. Representative Beard was elected to his first two-year term in November 2014.
In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Beard owns and operates a real estate company with his wife, and he is an attorney and partner at Beard and Associates Law Firm, LLC where his primary focus is family law.
Rep. Beard is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sedalia where he currently serves as financial clerk. Between 1997 and 1999, he served a full time two year Spanish speaking missionary for his church in northern California. He has been a board member for the American Red Cross and he worked for 7 years to help young men become worthy husbands and fathers as Scout Master of Troop 150 of the Boy Scouts of America. He currently serves as scout committee chairman.
Rep. Beard is a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia, and he received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Brigham Young University, and his Juris Doctorate from University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Born in the country of Switzerland, Rep. Beard currently resides in Sedalia with his wife. They currently have six children. With God’s help, they hope to have four more.

Establishes the Missouri Child Protection Registry
Allows the court to grant visitation between the parents of a minor who has been appointed a guardian and the minor if the court finds it in the best interests of the minor
